Tempered glass

Due to its high mechanical and thermal strength, tempered glass is classified as safety glass.

The main characteristics of tempered glass are its high mechanical strength, heat resistance and toughness.

Today, tempered glass has a wide range of applications. It is an integral part of modern building facades and interior design. Tempered glass is also used in the automotive industry, furniture and household appliances.

The main characteristics of tempered glass are its high mechanical strength, heat resistance and toughness; tempered glass belongs to the category of safety glass.

This material is many times stronger than ordinary glass. It is quite difficult to break and therefore it is most often used in the production of exterior and interior shop windows, interior partitions and doors of buildings, which provide an excellent level of sound insulation.

Tempered glass is used in the automotive industry for side and rear windows.

In addition to the traditional methods of determining the quality of tempered glass, LOSK uses additional instruments and tools that allow the main indicators of its quality to be determined at all stages of the tempering process. By controlling surface stresses, local curvature and wave deformation, the company guarantees a high level of reliability and safety, and the use of instruments and tools from AYROX (Belgium) for this purpose gives us the right to classify our tempered glass according to European standards EN 12150-2 (tempered glass); EN 1863-1 (heat strengthened glass) and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) C1048 (Standard Specification for Heat-Strengthened and Fully Tempered Flat Glass).

Glass tempering is carried out on Tamglass' high performance ProE-2136-CTA-20 line. The most advanced convection system installed on this furnace allows you to temper glass to a very high quality.

Computer control allows the selection of the appropriate tempering parameters for each type of glass, ensuring precise control of the temperature on the glass surface, stability and repeatability of the process.

Glass tempering parameters:

  • Thickness 4 mm to 19 mm;
  • Dimensions:
    • max 2100х3600 mm;
    • min 100x250 mm;
  • Thermal hardening of glass up to 10 mm according to EN 1863;
  • Tempering transport glasses;
  • Tempering Low E glass to 4% emission.

Applications for tempered glass

Tempered glass in the interior of Ukrainian cars.

Tempered clear glass was used for the glazing of car windows; transparent, partially enamelled - for partition walls; partially enamelled satin - for glazing doors; triplex tempered glass - for shelves.
